Drashti Dhami: Before becoming Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’s Gayatri – Drashti has done several shows. It was Geet Huyi Sabse Parayi that brought her in the limelight. She started her career as a model in music videos. Drashti was seen in Saiyaan dil mein aana re and a Punjabi music video Nachle ve soniye.
Shabbir Ahluwalia: Kumkum Bhagya’s Abhi is one of Ekta Kapoor’s favourites. He started his career by doing special episodes in the popular youth show – Hip Hip Hurray. Post that, Shabbbir has done several show as the lead hero – Kahiin To Hoga, Laagi TujsSe Lagan etc. Shabbir played the bad boy since his first show; like how his role started off in Kumkum Bhagya.
Sanaya Irani: This cute and vivacious actor who is currently winning accolades in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded also started her career with a music video like her best friend Drashti Dhami. Besides doing ads, Sanaya was first seen on TV in the remix version of Jagjit Singh’s song Tumko dekha to ye khayal aaya.
Karan Patel: If you notice, Ekta Kapoor has been instrumental in building the careers of several popular television stars. After Shabbir, Karan Patel is another actor who is forever indebted to Ekta for his flourishing career. He started off with The Czarina’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
Karan Singh Grover: He is considered one of the hottest actors in telly town. While people remember him as Dr Armaan of Dill Mill Gayye or Asad Ahmed Khan of Qubool Hai – he actually started off his career with an MTV show – Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi.
Divyanka Tripathi: She was the find of Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj where she seen along with her ex-beau Ssharad Malhotra. She did her first show also with Ssharad in Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan. Divyanka was an instant hit on TV from her first show itself.
Barun Sobti: While Barun Sobti no longer does TV, he is still considered as one of the most popular telly actors. While he received fame and recognition through his show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, he started off his career with Shraddha on Star Plus.
