“She’s here,” announced Hollywood actress Kate Hudson as she and her partner Danny Fujikawa welcomed their daughter. The international star took to Instagram to announce her arrival. While we were excited for the star, we were intrigued by the daughter’s name. The 39-year old announced that she has named her daughter, Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa. Now, we know Rani has an important association with India. So, it was natural to jump to the conclusion that Kate named her daughter after the Indian word for a queen. However, sorry to burst your bubble, but the name has no connection to India.
The actress revealed why she named her Rani and how it would be pronounced. Taking to the social media platform, the Bride Wars star explained, “We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor.” Isn’t that the sweetest thing?
Kate also assured fans that she and the baby are okay. “Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back," she wrote.
The baby arrived almost two weeks after Kate hosted a wonderful baby shower. Kate was seen wearing a beautiful white dress and flaunting her baby bump. She shared a few pictures from her special day on Instagram recently.
Rani is Kate’s third baby. The daughter of Oscar winning actress Goldie Hawn already has two sons – Ryder Russell and Bingham Hawn – from her previous relationships.
