On the occasion of his 54th birthday, Mr Perfectionist announced his next project, which is Lal Singh Chaddha (official remake of Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump). Soon after the announcement, reports came out that Aamir's son Junaid will play the younger version of Lal Singh Chaddha in the film but later PK star confirmed that he will only play it. As we are quite excited to know about his kids getting launched in Bollywood, Aamir said that if his kids want him to launch them, then they have to go through auditions.
In an interview with a leading daily, Aamir revealed that his son Junaid has not approached or had a word with him about his Bollywood debut. He said, "If there is a subject suitable for him and if he passed the audition, then I would consider it." On Aamir's birthday, the actor said, "I think it's up to Junaid. He should lead his own life and take his own decisions. He is inclined to the creative side, he is doing theatre. He is very bright, but I am allowing him to follow his own path."
When asked about any plans about launching his seven-year-old kid Azad Rao Khan, Aamir said, "I haven't thought of any of this. Frankly, if my casting director suggests it and if Azad passes the audition, it could happen. My kids have to audition even for my home productions."
Talking about Forrest Gump from which Lal Singh Chaddha is inspired starred Tom Hanks in the titular character. It was based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel by the same name. The was the biggest blockbuster of that year and even went on to win 6 Academy Awards including Best Film, Best Actor and Best Director. Filmmaker Robert Zemeckis narrated the story of Gump, who is a slow-witted but a kind-hearted person, through several decades. Lal Singh Chaddha will be directed by Secret Superstar helmer Advait Chandan and is expected to hit the screens in early 2020. So, are you excited for this venture? Tweet to us @Bollywood_Life
