Mouni Roy struck Gold when she decided to enter Bollywood (pun intended). The gorgeous actress made her Bollywood-debut with Gold, opposite Akshay Kumar. Her character as a feisty Bengali wife won many hearts and looks like the Bong beauty is here to stay. The actress will be next seen in Romeo-Akbar-Walter. Mouni admits that she misses the small screen saying, “I have a sense of belonging there, it’s like home because I know everybody."
And when the beautiful actress was asked about her relationship status in a Mumbai Mirror interview; if there was any time for love, Pyaar, Ishq, Vishk, here's what she replied.
“People who matter know I’m single and it’s not about the shortage of time because you can compartmentalise your life,” she retorted. “But I need to meet the right person, I can’t just pick someone and start dating. At the moment I’m grateful for this window (movies) that has opened in my life. I don’t think I should throw it away by not giving my 100 percent to it,” she told the publication.
The former Naagin had had a successful run on TV for nearly a decade before making it to the silver screen. She also praised her mentor, Ekta Kapoor, “She’s given me everything. I owe my life to her. Naagin is as much my baby as Ekta’s. Now I feel like I’ve moved cities and feel a little lost. But everyone has their own journey,” she sighs. Any possibility of her returning to TV in-between films? “Why not? Whenever I find the time,” she said.
On the work-front, apart from Romeo-Akbar-Walter, Mouni has Brahmastra, Made in China and Mogul lined up. Long way to go, Mouni!
