Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna on Wednesday said he is blessed to be part of Raghavendra Rao-directed Telugu devotional drama "Om Namo Venkatesaya", which releases in cinemas on Friday.
"'Om Namo Venkatesaya' will weave magic in your hearts. I am blessed to be part of it. Thank you Raghavendra Rao, Keeravani and Mahesh Reddy," Nagarjuna wrote on his Twitter page.
In the film, he plays Baba Hathiram, an 18th century ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara. It's the fourth time -- after "Annamayya", "Sri Ramadasu" and "Shirdi Sai" -- that Raghavendra Rao has teamed up with Nagarjuna for a devotional film. The film introduces Saurabh Raaj Jain to Telugu filmdom. He plays Lord Venkateswara in the film. Also starring Anushka Shetty, Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu and Vimala Raman, the film has music by M.M. Keeravani. Anushka and Nagarjuna are busy with promotions at the moment.
Nagarjuna will soon begin shooting for Raju Gari Gadhi 2, the sequel to the hit horror comedy. Being directed by Ohmkar, the film also stars Seerat Kapoor, Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar. The best part - He will be sharing screen space with his to-be daughter in-law - Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Yes, the Telugu diva has been finalised as the lead heroine. this will be her first film in the horror-comedy genre.
Nagarjuna was last seen in Ooppri opposite Karthi and Nagarjuna. His role as a paraplegic who happened to be a millionaire was appreciated by fans. The Nagarjuna-Karthi combo also struck a chord with the audience. The romantic comedy went on earn Rs 100 crore at the box office.
