Akshay Kumar has proved yet again that he doesn't believe in making crores of money with just one film but multiple of them. By releasing three films in 2016, his box office figures were better than even Salman Khan whose Sultan was a Rs. 300 crore film. Now that Jolly LLB 2 has become a Rs 100 crore spinner, he is already talking about his next films. One of which is Toilet Ek Prem Katha. It would be an understatement to say that the name had us in splits and for quite a long time we were sure that the title was a tentative one. But turns out that it is actually the name of the Akshay Kumar-starrer. In fact, the actor confessed that many people were taken aback with the quirky name of the film.
At the press conference that was held today to celebrate the success of Jolly LLB 2, Akshay was asked if he chooses a topic and speaks on it on social media or instead makes a film pertaining to the topic. He said, "I don't plan anything. If I like a subject, I like the issue, I just bring it ahead and do the film. Which is why I took up Toilet - Ek prem Katha. 50 per cent of people in India don't have toilets. Isn't that an alarming thing? I got a great subject. It's a taboo thing to talk about. When I announced the name, many people called me asking why am I naming the film Toilet? It's a real story. The biggest problem we have. Why not talk about it? There are 1000 children in India who die of diarrhoea everyday. It's a thing I would request the media to write about it." Clearly, the actor is very passionate about this film.
