Here's why Anushka Shetty chose to put on 20 kgs instead of opting for fat suit in Size Zero!

From being a glam queen to becoming a performance oriented actress, Anushka Shetty has come a long way in her filmi career. After making heads turn with her acting in Baahubali and Rudhramadevi, Anushka is all set for the third release of the year. Her film Size Zero aka Inji Iduppazhagi is releasing this weekend, and the actress ha created huge buzz around the film thanks to her obese, overweight looks. What really surprised the fans was that Anushka did not put on a fat suit for the film but decided to gain around 20 kgs for the role. While there is no doubt that Anushka is extremely dedicated actress, prepared to go the extra mile for her role, there is more to her decision to put on weight instead of opting for artificial suit. Talking to a leading entertainment portal, Anushka revealed," The film revolves around a girl, Soundarya aka Sweety, who encounters problems finding the right groom because she is overweight. Her mother, played by Urvashi, is eagerly searching for the right partner for her, but in vain. That's because most suitable boys and NRIs that she encounters prefer a girl of a certain size. The film deals about what this girl goes through as a person, and how she resolves this issue". "I fell in love with the script. The minute Kanika Kovelamudi (writer) told me the story, I felt a strong connect with the character immediately and I felt every woman will be able to relate to her. I find that people, women in particular, are very conscious about their weight and appearance. Even before I entered films, and was a Yoga teacher, I saw how much obsessed people were with their weight. Whether you are a celebrity or not, everyone gets affected by other people's comments on their appearance. This is because we forget who we really are and concentrate on our appearance alone. This film seeks to highlight that your beauty lies in your personality and is not determined by your appearance," added Anushka.

Looks like the super talented actress is ready to alter our perception towards weight issues and feminism.
