Karan Johar’s former student Alia Bhatt has returned to the franchise of Student of the Year, with a special number. The actress has shot for the Hook-Up song with Tiger Shroff, choreographed by Farah Khan over a four-day at a Mehboob Studios. Spilling the beans about the peppy number from Student of the Year 2, director Punit Malhotra told Mumbai Mirror, “Alia and Tiger look amazing together, their chemistry is sizzling. Since we have Tiger it made sense to get Alia who was gracious despite being such a huge star. I haven’t seen anyone work so hard, I’m her fan.”
Apparently the choreography of this song was difficult and left Alia Bhatt with a few bruises. But the tough actress enthusiastically completed her schedule. Reviewing Alia’s performance in the Hook-Up song, Punit added, “The song is a trump card which we saved for the end. Tiger will kill me for saying this, but Alia has danced better than him."
Interestingly, in an interview with IANS, Tiger Shroff too had confessed that Alia has done a better act than him. "We had so much fun shooting the song. Personally, I have never done a dance number like that…working with Alia was an amazing experience. Though she is such a big star, she was open and cooperative on set while shooting the song. She is better than me in this one," Tiger had said. Sharing his excitement to share the frame with ex-student Alia Bhatt, Tiger made a special mention on Twitter.
And while Alia will return to the sequel of her debut film, it remains to be seen if her co-stars Varun Dhawan and Sidaharth Malhotra will make appearance or not. Maintaining the suspense, Punit quipped, “Honestly no they are not in it. But fingers crossed something could happen soon.” The Hook-Up song is set to release soon and the students are creating quite a noise about it on social media.
Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday will mark their debut as new students from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions with Student of the Year 2. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on May 10.
