While many were wondering if it is really RK, who made his much talked about debut on six social media platforms, it soon dawned upon the Twitteratti that he was here just to promote his brand
Ranbir Kapoor has taken brand promotions to a whole new level. Yesterday, he broke the internet with his much talked about social media debut across six platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Vine and Snapchat. As the Roy actor marked his online presence, thousands of fans thronged to his Twitter account @RanbirKa6000R, and the account got 31K followers in a matter of hours.
But all the excitement of the fans faded away soon enough, when it became clear that he was just promoting his brand Lenovo over the internet. In fact, his twitter handle name has now changed it's name to @LENOVO_A6000. Even Twitter officials have confirmed that it was not Ranbir's official account and he was there just to promote his brand.
Ranbir's six hour online stint for Lenovo, has not just disappointed the fans who were excited for his social media debut, but it has also lead to creation of yet another fake account that goes by the name @Ranbirka6000R. Was it right on Ranbir's part to take his fans for a ride by doing a brand gimmick online? I don't know about the rest of you, but the fan in me feels a little disheartened that the real Ranbir Kapoor is just not ready to stand up on social media.
