The B-Town beauties proved there's more to them than cat-fights and clashes
Priyanka Chopra and Freida Pinto, who are the brand ambassador of the Girl Rising campaign, took the initiative to produce the Indian version of the critically acclaimed documentary, Girl Rising titled, Girl Rising India - Woh Padhegi, Woh Udegi. The film is a story of 8 girls from across the globe who struggled and strived for their education becoming inspirational examples for all. Like we informed earlier, apart from Priyanka and Freida, the two-hour long film also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Madhuri Dixit, Nandita Das and Sushmita Sen. Now you might think that it would have been a herculean task to bring these divas together, what with the constant reports of tiffs and clashes that come our way. But that wasn't the case and PeeCee made sure to put it out in the open for all to know.
The Bajirao Mastani actress took to Twitter to acknowledge and appreciate her colleagues' support saying, "Contrary to the belief that actresses don’t get along.. It just took 1 phone call to get these amazing ladies on board.. #iamgirlrising. On behalf of the #girlrising team we are indebted to #KareenaKapoorKhan @MadhuriDixit @nanditadas @aliaa08 @ParineetiChopra @thesushmitasen."
Alia who was more than happy to be a part of the film thanked PC saying, "Thank you @priyankachopra for giving me this opportunity !!!" Priyanka was quick to respond to this one and tweeted, "I’m so happy u decided to do this with me baby.. #iamgirlrising @aliaa08."
The film which deals with the global cause of women education and empowerment will air on Star Plus this Saturday on August 29. Check out the teaser here...
