John Abraham is an actor who doesn't do too many films but likes to have a few releases every year. Since Force established him as an action star, the actor has tried to cultivate that image a lot. And why not? John's body is enviable. We have hardly seen such a great physique in any of our actors. He has the perfect personality for an action hero whose exterior is tough but is a softy inside. But we can't really say that he has seen success every time he ventured into action. There were setbacks and that makes Force 2 even more important for him.
#Time to fly high solo
John's last solo release was Rocky Handsome this year which wasn't upto the mark. The trailer of the film showed immense promise but the film couldn't deliver. His intense gaze and spectacular action couldn't save the film either. So it has become imperative for Force 2 to work for him as a solo actor because as they say, you are as good as your last film.
#Glory of his own
It will be wrong to say that John hasn't seen a success this year. His bromance with Varun Dhawan in Dishoom was simply amazing. After Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, his bonding with Varun on screen made people clap hard. The film found some takers if not many. But he shares the glory here with Varun whose funny one-liners were the talk of the town. A hit on his own is what John needs badly and Force 2 can do the trick.
#Francise factor
If you are wondering why we are putting so much emphasis on Force 2's success, we have a very good reason for it. Force, the first film, was one of the hits of that year. The scene where John lifts a bike and throws it at his opponent is perhaps the best action sequence we have seen in years. Lifting men up and hurling them away had become so passe after that. There was also this sweet love story in this high octane action film which warmed out hearts as John's chemistry with Genelia D'souza was simply adorable. Force 2 has to take the legacy forward and turn it into a franchise worth pumping money into. We need an action franchise apart from Dhoom, don't you think so?
