Ranveer Singh is soon going to transform into Kapil Dev for the movie ’83, which is going to be about the series of events that led to India's victory in the Cricket World Cup 1983, where India had lifted the cup for the first time in the history of cricket. But before he picks up the bat and hits it out of the park, the actor was in for a surprise when he bumped into the legendary cricketer at a restaurant in Mumbai recently. The excited actor couldn’t help but take a quick selfie with Kapil to remember their sudden rendezvous.
But that’s not all that the duo did when they met. Kapil and Ranveer also got into a quick conversation about ’83. The movie will trace the life and time of the Indian cricket team which played the 1983 world cup. While it has been confirmed that Ranveer will play the captain, actors who will play cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Mohinder Amarnath, Dilip Vengsarkar and Krishnamachari Srikkanth, are yet to be announced.
The film has been directed by Kabir Khan. Ranveer is currently filming in Hyderabad for Simmba. The actor has beefed up for the Rohit Shetty directorial. Following that, Ranveer will hit the nets to prepare for his role as Kapil in November. Just like Sushant Singh Rajput, who brought every on and off pitch body language to the big screen in MS Dhoni, Ranveer will also replicate every move of the former Indian captain in the movie.
Ranveer has had a great year. While he has already delivered a great performance via Padmaavat earlier this year, he looks kickass as a police officer in Simmba. The actor was also seen lanky thin for his role in Gully Boy and will look sporty-fit for ’83.
