Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone came together after three long years and all the credit goes to Bollywood's favourite designer, Manish Malhotra. The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani stars walked as the showstoppers for Manish's Mijwan fashion show that's held every year. It was a starry night with celebs like Iulia Vantur, Sonakshi Sinha, Nushrat Bharucha, Yami Gautam and Mouni Roy attending it. The night was long awaited since we had an opportunity to see a former couple come together and set the ramp on fire. It was also special since it took eleven years for the actors to come together for a fashion night. Well, the wait was worth it since seeing Ranbir - Deepika together is always a sight for sore eyes. Well, Mijwan isn't just about the Bollywood's top stars coming together to grace the ramp. There's definitely more to it. For the ones who don't know, Mijwan is a village adopted by designer Manish Malhotra to promote chikankari among its women and girls. The chikankari embroidery is a traditional embroidery having its root in the city of Lucknow. Shabana Azmi, daughter of late poet, Kaifi Azmi, looks after the people of this village, solving their problems as and how she can. Talking about this initiative, she said, I'm glad I'm being able to contribute a little bit to my father's dream. It was his dream to see the girls of Mijwan progress and be self-reliant. And through these ventures I am being able to help them do that," she says, while showing off the craft 'her' girls have made. Mijwan is my home. It's my father's home and every time I come here I feel I have connected with my father more deeply."
