What's the final verdict then? Are either of the films getting postponed or no? Read on to find out...
Now having two big films releasing on the same day is obviously not a great idea coz the audience will get divided and that's bound to hamper the box office figures of both the films. That's also the reason why Shah Rukh Khan avoided clashing with Salman Khan's Sultan this Eid and postponed his film Raees to January 27, 2017. But little did SRK expect even this decision of his will create a chaos considering Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil had already blocked the same Jan weekend and are not willing to shift their dates. In fact, director Sanjay Gupta even tweeted a few days back affirming, "Dear All KAABIL releases on Jan 26, 2017. Absolutely no change in date. Hope this clears all unnecessary rumours. Warm regards." He even added, "Dear SRK fans there is no need to get hyper abusive. Calm down. Even I like him & will watch Raees whenever it releases. Warm regards."
So what does Hrithik have to say about this whole Raees Vs Kaabil clash? Is he worrying the fact he'll be coming in a face-off with with Shah Rukh? Well, you wish but Jr Roshan doesn't want to be one of those who will back out or get affected by someone else's starpower. At a Mohenjo Daro event this afternoon, Hrithik reacted to the fuss surrounding the clash saying, "Yes we spoke and said we are actors and we should leave it to the producers to decide." Quite a safe move, no?
However, unlike Hrithik, Shah Rukh had openly spoken about NOT wanting to clash with Kaabil as he revealed that the producers of Raees, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are trying set up a meeting with Rakesh Roshan to try convince him to move his film to some other date. SRK said that when they announced the move to shift Raees to January, Kaabil had not even started shooting, while Raees is almost complete, except for a small portion. So he feels it would easier the makers of Kaabil to shift the film. He revealed the they are fixing a meeting with the Roshans on 10th to see if there are any such possibilities.
