The movie has been made on a huge budget of 100 crore plus
Mohenjo Daro directed by Ashutosh Gowariker stars Hrithik Roshan and new comer Pooja Hegde. The movie is based on the ancient civilization of Mohenjo Daro and about the story of a simple farmer who travels to the great city and falls in love with a high-status woman. He then must challenge the city's elite and fight against overwhelming odds to save their civilization.
Now being a period film, Mohenjo Daro needed a huge budget and going by the reports the movie is made on a whopping budget of 120 crores , 100 crores is the cost of Production and P&A is around Rs. 20 crore. But it seems that the makers should not worry about making profits or even about movie doing some really good business, since the half the production cost has already been covered up
According to the reports, Mohenjo Daro’s satellite rights are sold for a huge sum of Rs 45 crores whereas the music rights are sold for Rs 15 crores. With this, the movie only has to earn 45 crores in domestic markets and around 15 crores overseas which shouldn’t be a problem considering Hrithik has a good amount of fan base.
If what we heard is right, Mohenjo Daro makers are already in a happy state and clash with any movie wouldn’t have mattered to them. These seems to be the pros of making a movie with huge star and a reputed director.
