His baritone voice has entertained millions over the years and now Bollywood's Shehanshah is ready to mesmerise cricket fans too
Amitabh Bachchan will make his debut as a cricket commentator this year at ICC World Cup 2015 game between India and Pakistan on February 15. Yes, Big B will share the commentary cubicle with Harsha Bhogle, Kapil Dev and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar. Wondering if Sr Bachchan is venturing into cricket too? Well, not really!
It seems that this stint of the Paa actor is a part of his film Shamitabh promotions. The director, R Balki spoke on this new role of the veteran actor. He said, "I personally feel, and there are millions who will agree with me, that there is nothing that Mr. Bachchan's voice can't do. He has done voiceovers in many feature films and has also lent his voice to documentaries and social causes. The one thing that he hadn't done was cricket commentary. I think the two voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Amitabh Bachchan unite India and Pakistan better than anything else."
Big B too is excited and said, "This country's emotions are ruled by two things cricket and cinema. For me, it's an exciting time on both fronts. My movie is releasing on February 6 and then, I have the privilege of making my commentary debut."
We're sure the Indian team, fans and we cannot wait for this BIG debut!
