And she received the award from Ranveer Singh!
So IIFA Awards are happening in Malaysia right now and currently the most powerful woman in Bollywood has just been conferred upon with a very important title,Woman of the Year. We are talking about Deepika Padukone who looking ethereal in her Sabyasachi saree came on the IIFA stage to collect her Woman of the Year trophy, thus making the women all around the world super proud!
Deepika has been in the news this year for calling a leading newspaper out on their sexism, then coming out and talking about her problems with depression and most recently her film Piku where she was seen in a deglam look. She is currently reigning Bollywood for reasons more than one and IIFA decided to celebrate that by awarding her with the most fitting title.
But guess what was the most special thing about this award! Well, we saw a picture of Ranveer Singh kneeling in front of Deepika with the award in both of their hands. Now we aren't sure if he was the one who gave her the award but seeing him down on one knee in front of her does make for a super sweet gesture!
