Illayaraja to compose background score for Kaaka Muttai director's next

The film, which stars Vidharth and Pooja Devariya in the lead, will feature no songs.

Maestro Illayaraja will compose the background score of Kaaka Muttai fame director M. Manikandan's upcoming Tamil crime-thriller Kutrame Dhandanai, which is currently in its post-production phase.
"Illayaraja sir will be composing the background score. He is currently busy with another project and as soon as he's done with it, he will start working on our film," Manikandan told IANS. The film, which features Vidharth and Pooja Devariya in the lead, will feature no songs.

"If your story is engaging enough, I don't see the need to include songs in a film. I came to this conclusion based on the feedback I received from audiences, who felt songs broke the narrative in recent Tamil films," Manikandan said.
