Farah Khan, Anu Malik and Sonu Malik's Indian Idol 9 has been really interesting so far. After a couple of monotonous seasons, the channel had decided to temporarily end the show. However, they came back again with the original judges and a better concept to revive the franchise. And looks like the changes have worked wonders. Not only is the show entertaining now, but we also have some really talented contestants. And after a tremendous episode last time around, the serious elimination round took place today. The Double Intehaan round saw six contestants - Hardeep, Bharti, Jeli, LV Revanth, Mansi and Manya battle it out to save themselves. Two contestants would be eliminated tonight so the singers had to go all out to prove themselves. # Hardeep started the episode today. He sang the melodious Har Kisi Ko song from Boss. He sang it perfectly and the judges gave him a round of applause. They congratulated him and said that his performance was fantastic. The judges then asked Malvika (the contestant who Hardeep likes) what she thought about the act. She said she loved it and Hardeep started blushing.
# Next up was Bharti, who sings Jee Le Zaraa from Talaash. While her act was fine, some of her notes were off. In fact, she could not nail any of the high notes correctly.
#Jeli came on stage next and sang Tu Jo Mila from Bajrangi Bhaijaan. His act was good, but again Sonu Nigam pointed out that he made a lot of mistakes in the timing of a few notes. However, Farah Khan mentioned that she loved her act coz of the amount of emotion he put into the song.
# And while Jeli was on the stage, the judges surprised him by called his mother on the show. He started crying as soon as he saw her and a lot of melodrama followed. His mother told that Jeli has made her proud and she continues to see him on TV.
# After his mother left, the competition went on as LV Revanth took the stage. He sang the title track of Khamoshiyan and we have to say it was stunning. He put in all his emotions and energy into the song, making it one of his best performances. The judges were spellbound and they praised him a lot for the efforts he had put in to reach till here. The hosts also recall how the singer had lost his father even when he wasn't born (his father died when her mother was pregnant), but still he still remains determined to succeed in life.
# Mansi took the stage next and sang Teri Neeyat Kharab Hai from Teen Patti. She hit all the right notes and impressed the judges. Her father, who was in the crowd, also revealed how she has made him really proud. He also mentioned that sometimes she does such things that they feel she is bigger than them. An emotional conversation followed.
# Next up was Manya who sang Lata Mangeshkar's Prem Pujari Rangeela Re. However, she failed to impress the judges.
This performance brings an end to the Double Intehaan round and the judges are left to decided who should stay and who should leave the competition. After an intense discussion, Farah Khan, Sonu Nigam and Anu Malik revealed that Bharti and Manya were eliminated from the competition.
This meant Indian Idol 9 got their top 10 contestants. Hardeep, Tajinder, Mansi, Shravan, Rohit, Malvika, LV Revanth, Jeli, Khuda Baksh and Mohit make it to the next round and they will battle to win the Indian Idol title.
