Indian Idol’s episode continued with the theme of contestants singing a song that did not belong to their state. It was a rocking show with one big surprise. Tajinder first took the stage as he sung the song Rookhi Sookhi Roti from the film, Nayak. It was a lively performance but Sonu Nigam said he was off key in the first line but completed the song with aplomb. There was a surprise as Geeta Kapur who is Farah Khan’s good friend wished Tajinder. It seems she and Tajinder know each other for some time but Farah wasn’t aware of it so far.
LV Revanth crooned to the chartbuster from Maachis Chaapa Chaapa and everyone loved it. Everyone was all praises. Anu Malik said that he was a commercial singer who could sing every genre ranging from rock to ghazal and Sufi. Revanth was also given a short demo of the love he is getting from women who love his personality from his voice to his beard. He was a bit embarrassed but said that Indian Idol is his only love in life. Anu Malik told him to master Hindi and gave an example of Lata Mangeshkar who learnt Urdu in life.
The best performance of the evening came from Naga Rohit. He sang Pinjre Wali Muniya much to the delight of the judges. He began crying about how the trio retained him in the top eight. His sister, Ravli who is about to be married came to support him. It was very emotional moment as she spoke of his struggle. Sonu Nigam sang Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka for his sister and him.
We also got a surprise as the judges brought back Manya Narang this week. She sang Nagade Sang from Ram Leela and everyone was wowed. She was wearing a lehenga and looking too pretty. Khuda Baksh sang Baawre from Luck By Chance and everyone was wowed. His mom and relatives from Mukhtasar, Punjab came on camera to show their support. Sonu told him not to lose touch with his roots and keep on aspiring in life. Farah also inspired him. Sonu Nigam gave a superb performance on Nagada from Jab We Met.
