Aditya Roy Kapur became an overnight superstar with the humongous success of Aashiqui 3 followed by another blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, where he played a key role in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. But post that, his films like Daawat-E-Ishq, Fitoor, Ok Jaanu and Kalank failed at the box office. And, now the actor came back strongly with his recent release Malang, which turned out to be a hit at the box office. While once again, Aashiqui 2 helmer Mohit Suri gave him much needed success with Malang, the fans expressed their desire to collaborate once again for Aashiqui 3.
When Aditya Roy Kapur was asked about this, he told ET Times, “I don't know. This is news to me too. I haven't heard anything about ‘Aashiqui 3’. You will have to ask Mr Suri. I find it tough to think about a film as something you want to be part of before you know what it's about. On the face of it, of course, one would want to. I would want to keep working with Mohit and do more and more films with him. ‘Malang’ is a film that's very close to my heart. I've been involved with that film from day one. But of course, Mr Suri is the man in the driver's seat. He knows better than me.”

Mohit Suri had earlier said how Aditya has evolved as an actor with time. Reacting on same, he said, “I think, of course, you hopefully evolve with time. I think you evolve with every experience as an actor, and the more you work the more you learn about your process about, you're always learning. Every day is a different onset. Every day is a new challenge. So definitely, I think we've both gone and done quite a bit of work in the last six years and done quite a few films which have kind of helped me to evolve and grow as an actor. So definitely, I'm sure he would have seen a change. You know, six years is a long time. And I think fundamentally we’re the same but for me to have been able to build this kind of body and do both roles. Even I doubt I'd be able to have done it that time.”
