We aren’t talking about onscreen kissing
Akshay Kumar seems to be one serious guy. He is not only working effortlessly to make better movies but is also ensuring that nothing goes wrong, not the music especially.
If there is one actor who consistently performs and attempts various genres right from drama till comedy then it is Akshay Kumar. He was last seen in Rustom. Browsing through our playlists this morning,
we came across a fact that, almost all of Akshay's recent films have had a good music album. We recall how critics would slam Emraan’s movies, even after making good profits. The reason why his movies worked was the strong music album they had. Right from Murder, Aksar to Jannat, his music album has always been at par; thanks to the composers.
Even all of Akshay 's recent movies have had good music compositions. If you do not believe us, check out the his movies and their songs below and we know you will agree with us in the end...
Gabbar Is Back
The movie produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by Krish was based upon corruption and a man’s journey to eradicate it completly. The movie had Kareena Kapoor Khan in a cameo where she featured in a romantic track ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’
with Akshay. This was the ultimate romantic track of 2015 and my own favourite too.
Holiday – A soldier is never off duty
This was a remake of a very popular Tamil movie Thuppaki starring Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal. The Hindi version had Akshay and Sonakshi essaying the pivotal roles. Remember the song ‘Shayarana’ where the lead pair is seen with co ordinated costumes throughout the song. Composed by Pritam and sung by Arijit Singh, do we need any other reason to consider it as hit?
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Nikhil Advani, was based on the most suceesful evacuation mission undertaken by Indian Government ever. The movie is set in the year 1990 when Iraq attacked Kuwait and lakhs of Indians were left stranded. The entire album of Airlift was impressive right from ‘Dil Cheez Tujhe De Di’ by Ankit Tiwari to ‘Soch Na Sake’by Arijit Singh. The music was composed by Amaal Malik and Ankit Tiwari and the results are nothing but exceptional.
The movie directed by Prabhu Dheva, is a remake of hit Telegu movie Vikarmarkadu. Rowdy Rathore revolves around a thief Shiva who falls in love with a young woman named Paro and later finds a responsibility to take care for his deceased lookalike ASP Vikram Rathore's daughter while seeking revenge from the main antagonist Baapji. The movie is home to various hit numbers like ‘Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita" by Mika Singh, ‘Dhadang Dhang Dhang’ by Sajid and ‘Aa Re Pritam Pyaare’ by Mamta Sharma. Songs were composed by Sajid Wajid who did a great job with this album.
His latest movie directed by Tinu Suresh Desai is based on the real life incident of naval officer K M Nanavati. All the songs from this movie including ‘Tay Hai’ by Ankit Tiwari and ‘Tere Sang Yaara’ by Atif Aslam are nothing but melodious. The chemistry between Akshay and Ileana is appealing and does all justice to these romantic tracks. We can’t wait to hear more of them. These songs are currently on a repeat mode in my playlist.
