The thing with common friends is that when a break up happens they can either mend things or make it worse. In the case of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif it is the latter that's happened. Ayan Mukerji, the director of Ranbir Kapoor's Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and also his best friend is in the middle of allegations that he is the reason why Katrina Kaif hasn't been able to patch up with her boyfriend. Ranbir and Ayan have been friends even before Katrina came into the picture. In fact Ayan is also friends with RK's ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone. He has always been close to the actor and someone who knows and understands him very well. However, it seems that his proximity to the Tamasha co-star hasn't gone down too well with his ex-girlfriend. A source close to the couple says, "Ayan has already taken a side and that is Ranbir. He has made it clear to Katrina that there is no chance or scope of any reconciliation. He wants to make a film with RK and he won't let anything else come in the way of it." It seems that Ayan is also very protective of his friend and doesn't want him to go through any more drama. While he and Kat were friends before, post break up things have changed.
