I feel for you HR...
Hrithik Roshan is one actor everyone wanted to be in love with. He not only had drop dead good looks but acting chops as well. He has also enjoyed a great friendship with many in the industry, Shah Rukh Khan in particular. But it seems all of a sudden, a lot of love has lost for Hrithik. He seems inhibited and alone. Why I am saying so? Let me give you a few instances.
When Hrithik debuted in 2000, it was said that he is here to challenge Shah Rukh Khan's standing now. But instead they became great friends. Gauri Khan on Koffee With Karan many years ago did say that initially, SRK was very awkward but then they turned into thick friends. But the equation seemed to have lost now because apart from clicking a picture at HR's birthday bash, we hardly see them bonding. In fact, it was pretty evident that the lot of Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan used to party together before but in recent times such instances have dwindled.
Arjun Rampal too was one of his BFFs but rumours of his liaisons with HR's ex-wife Suzanne seemed to have put a wedge in that as well. Since then, I have hardly seen him partying hard with his friends. Yes, he did go for Bachchan's Diwali party last year and attended a birthday party with a broken leg with Abhishek but his presence at such gatherings have dwindled. In fact, there was a time when he used to throw parties but guess when your besties aren't with you, there's nothing to celebrate.
Post that, Hrithik seemed have to have taken refuge in Twitter. He started indulging in more spiritual and motivational stuff. His tweets are an example of the same. And again, none of his 'friends' have ever really tweeted those posts. This also means he withdrew himself from everyone and started living in his own world.
I wonder if that's also the reason why nobody decided to support Hrithik in his legal fight with Kangana Ranaut. What might have hurt him more was Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra's support to the Tanu Weds Manu actress in this fight. Clearly, there is something amiss.
There's more. Sources from this year's IIFA have said that Hrithik wasn't his usual self. He didn't make any effort to mingle with any of his co-actors. He is a very friendly actor who makes a point to greet everyone. I still remember 2014's IIFA press conference where his bromance with Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar had to be seen to be believed. They were a hilarious bunch but this year, there was hardly any camaraderie between them. He wasn't anywhere to be seen at the press conference which was held in Spain which saw everyone on stage except Hrtihik. In fact, the one man who's credited for helping him acquire a good physique during his debut, Salman Khan, too left crossed from the event.
In 2014, when Bang Bang was about to release, he dared everyone to do something really crazy and people even participated. Priyanka Chopra did headstand, Shah Rukh Khan did his fav ab exercise and much more. But the clear winner was Ranveer Singh who was dared to wear a cape and get out of his car in a public place. The actor did it and owned the challenge. However this year, the same Ranveer is busy promoting Rustom rather than HR's Mohenjo Daro. So did Hrithik not ask him to promote his film or did they not do it of their own accord? A question worth asking.
It's really daunting how Hrithik has suddenly become so withdrawn from his colleagues. Is it his own doing or something that we aren't able to spot yet?
