Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh is the talk of the town and how! The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has proven to be a huge spinner at the box office. The intense love drama has not only become a rage amongst cine goers but it also has fans hailing Shahid for his career-best performance in the remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy, which starred Arjun Deverakonda. Even fan clubs down South have appreciated Shahid's unique portrayal of the angst and grief of a heartbroken but alcoholic, cocaine snorting surgeon. Having said that, one can't ignore the flak it has received from critics and critical thinkers who have flagged it as highly problematic. In fact, the buzz is strong on social media about the same and how triggering it is especially for women who have undergone abuse. And while Shahid, Kiara or the makers haven't issued any clarification yet, brother Ishaan Khatter has jumped the gun and defended his bhai. It all happened when he took to Instagram to share an appreciation post for Shahid. He wrote, "As happy as can be for my big brother today who’s always been a shining example of a human being for me. Not a doubt in the world that you deserve the smashing success but it continues to baffle me how you were able to play one of the most complex, lost and damaged characters with such perfection while returning home to being the most centered, loving and responsible family man I know. Thank you for showing me what it means to be a responsible son, father, husband and brother always AND for knocking me out with your performance in and as #KabirSingh ?You are ???"
However, an Insta user was quick to point out and branded it as a 'justification to misogyny' that the movie is apparently glorifying. But Ishaan couldn't resist and explained how he meant exactly the opposite. That and how he doesn't agree with the said opinion. Check out his reply here.
