Manish Tiwary’s adaptation of this Shakespeare classic looks like a violent tale set in the backdrop of Benaras
William Shakespeare’s stories have time and again engaged Bollywood, as filmmakers like Vishal Bhardwaj and Gulzar have translated some of his most celebrated works into films. And they’ve mostly worked, proven by spectacular movies such as Angoor, Omkara and Maqbool. Now another similar flick is in the offing by the Dil Dosti Etc director, Manish Tiwary.
Issaq, starring Prateik and newcomer Amyra Dastur as Romeo and Juliet, is a violent tale set in the rustic Benaras milieu. The trailer indeed looks very promising, and the supporting cast of stalwarts like Makarand Deshpande, Ravi Kishan and Prashant Narayanan get us more intrigued. The music and cinematography seems charged, and the lead pair looks very sweet together.
With the love soaked violent epic hitting the screens in July, we urge you to keep a watch for it, as something tells us this film will indeed be special, and hopefully give Prateik a chance to redeem himself after the barrage of flops he has unleashed in the past few years. So check out the trailers of Issaq and let us know if you find it interesting too!
