The Great Indian Laughter Challenge didn't open to encouraging numbers and the immediate action was to sack the three judges of the show - Mallika Dua, Zakir Khan and Hussain Dalal. Akshay Kumar, who is the super judge on the show, will now have the company of filmmaker Sajid Khan and actor Shreyas Talpade. The makers would sure be hoping that, with the addition of these known names to the panel of judges, the show will garner more attention than it previously did.
But while such decisions are usually taken by the producers of the show, it seems like this time around it was Akshay, who suggested filmmaker friend, Sajid Khan's name as one of the judges on the show. A source revealed, "It was Akshay who suggested Sajid's name. He and Sajid are buddies and their camaraderie is crazy. When the makers were scouting for some more renowned faces, the first name Akki thought of was Sajid's. And he was just a phone call away. Sajid can never refuse Akshay and he came on board." Well, Sajid and Akshay certainly seem to be great friends as the two have also bonded well during the shoot of their films like Heyy Babyy and the Housefull series. Given that, it won't be wrong to expect them to be like a house on fire on the show. Actor Shreyas Talpade, who will soon be seen on the silver screen with Golmaal Again, is also a judge on the show. Known for his impeccable comic timing, the actor will surely add a dash of humour to the entire show. His camaraderie with Akshay surely would be worth a few laughs. And who knows, with Sajid present there, he might even cast the two in a film later. We are perhaps taking this a bit too far but can you blame us? Akshay and Sajid have delivered all hits whenever they paired up for films and we won't mind a repeat of the success story!
