The N.T.R biopic is one of the most talked about projects in the Telugu film industry courtesy to its ensemble star cast and the interesting life of NT Rama Rao. It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna as N.T.R and Vidya Balan as Basavatarakam, his first wife. Rana Daggubati who is best known as Bhallaladeva from Baahubali plays the role of Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the film. As we know, Chandrababu Naidu has been one of the most influential chief ministers of the state, formerly only Andhra Pradesh. He is the son-in-law of NTR after marrying his daughter, Bhuvaneshwari. The project is directed by Krish who stepped in after Teja walked out from it.
And the latest update about the casting makes the movie even more exciting. Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to play the role of late Sridevi who has worked in about 14 movies with NTR. Sridevi and NTR's popular movies include Rowdi Ramudu Konte Krishnudu (1980) and Vayyari Bhamalu Vagalamaari Bharthalu (1982). Certainly, the two have been a great part of each other's career so it was very important to find the right actress to play Sridevi. And seems like the producers have found their fit.
Earlier there were reports about the same. Producer Vishnu Induri was quoted by Mid Day earlier saying that Rakul has been their first choice. "We haven't approached Sonakshi, Kangana or Shraddha. Rakul Preet Singh is our only choice as she's popular in the South, especially in Telugu films. We have shot almost 30 per cent of the movie; Vidya has already shot for six days. We are working on Rakul's dates for now." Even though it is a small part in the biopic, Rakul is keen to play Sridevi and we can't wait to see how it unfolds.
