It's official now. Tiger Shroff will be playing the lead in Student of the Year sequel. Dharma Productions themselves have confirmed this news.
We have earlier mentioned about how Jackie Shroff's prodigal son was the frontrunner to play the lead in Student of the Year 2. But now with Karan Johar himself confirming the news, we can put rest to all speculations.
However, the sequel will not be directed by Karan Johar. Instead, it will be directed by Punit Malhotra, who previously made I Hate Luv Storys and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.
This will be definitely great news to all Tiger Shroff fans. The young star has had a great track record with his two films, Heropanti and Baagh, both being a success at the box office. He is also very popular with the younger generation thanks to his prowess in martial arts and his dancing skills. He will be next seen in the upcoming superhero film, A Flying Jatt.
The original Student of the Year had launched the careers of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. There were speculations that the sequel will launch the next batch of star kids like Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara and Shahid Kapoor's younger brother Ishaan. But, since this could be a multi hero project, you may never know.
