The world has welcomed late actress Sridevi's daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, with open arms into the universe of Indian cinema. Her first film, Dhadak, opened to good reviews. After playing a leading lady there, she is going to be seen in a multistarrer with six prominent actors of Bollywood for her next. Dharma Productions has already signed her on for a second film, Takht, which bills her name alongside stalwarts like Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt. In a recent interview with HT Cafe, the actress said that she likes to take up characters that challenge her and reveals that, that is something she has learnt from her mother.
Janhvi was talking about the process of picking roles to the news daily. She said, “But you have to create an impact with whatever little you get. If one can leave an impression [in such parts] on audiences and touch their hearts, then there’s nothing like it. That’s what mum [Sridevi] always used to say. She would tell me, ‘it’s never about the kind of role you get... you need to create magic with whatever is given to you’. I hope that I can get to that [stage] one day,”
The actress recently appeared at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2018 and was given Fresh Face of the Year Award. She looked stunning that evening, a true Bollywood diva. In the BTS video, released by the fashion magazine, Jahnvi talked about the beauty secrets passed on to her by Sridevi. She revealed, “She had all of this secret tips and formulae to maintain good skin and good hair. She’d make our hair oil at home with dried flowers and aamla and she’d make sure that she gives me and Khushi an oil massage every three days. And whatever we’d have left from this we’d put on our face. Like strawberries or whatever fruit. It would go on us.”
In another interview with Hindustan Times, the actress was asked if she’d love to star in a remake of a Sridevi movie, produced by her father. The young star had replied, “It’s daunting to even think about it, as it’s ten times more responsibility,”
