Back in 2018, multiple women had come out to share their #MeToo experiences against filmmaker Sajid Khan, following which he stepped down as director of Housefull 4, which released last year. Sajid has been named by multiple women including two actresses, Sonali Chopra and Rachel White and one journalist for sexual misconduct. He has been called out not just for harassment but also for allegedly flashing women. And now Jiah Khan's sister Karishma has accused Sajid of sexually harassing her the late actress in a BBC Documentary titled Death in Bollywood.
In the video, Karishma has claimed that Sajid has told Jiah to take off her top and bra during a script-reading session. "It was rehearsal, she was reading the scripts and he asked her to take off her top and her bra. She didn’t know what to do, she said ‘the filming hasn’t even begun yet and this is happening,’” Karishma said in the second episode of the documentary on Jiah Khan's death investigation. It has been released only in the UK.
In a clip shared by Kangana Ranaut on her Twitter handle, Karishma said, "When she was asked by Sajid Khan to take her top off, she came home and cried. She said, ‘I have a contract, so if I leave, they can sue me and slander my name. If I stay, then I am sexually harassed.’ It was a lose-lose situation” further claiming that Sajid had inappropriate remarks about her when she had accompanied her sister Jiah to the filmmaker's house. She was 16 years old at that time.
After Sajid was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women in 2018, he had tweeted back then in response, "In the wake of the allegations against me and the pressure being put on my family, my producer and the stars of my film 'Housefull 4', I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post, till the time I can allay the allegations and prove the truth... I request my friends in the media to kindly not pass judgment till the truth is out."
Since then, the director has remained silent about the accusations.
