Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 2 has opened in theaters. The movie faced some trouble with the court prior to it's release. The Bombay High Court Aurangabad Bench ordered deletion of four scenes from the upcoming film Jolly LLB 2, which it held are defamatory to the judiciary and could amount to contempt of court, an official said. Jolly LLB 2 is a courtroom drama starring Akshay alongside Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla, and is written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. Our film critic Rashma Shetty Bali is watching the movie right now, and the first half just got over. Here is what she says about the film so far...
Subhash Kapoor returns to his hit film Jolly LLB, he replaces Arshad Warsi with Akshay Kumar. The movie revolves around Jolly, a lawyer who is eager to fight a case, but is stuck in his role of an assistant to a renowned Nawab/lawyer. Jolly in a bid to make his own dreams come true and make his father proud ends up ruining Hina's (Sayani Gupta) life.
The first half of the film tries to give you a sneak peek at Jolly's life and shows how he finally lands up fighting a tough legal battle at the cost of losing his job at the Nawab's legal office and his dream lawyer's chamber. While Akshay rules the screen space, it is the supporting characters who bring life to this otherwise predictable.
Let me clarify that Akshay Kumar (Jolly aka Jagdishwar Mishra) may be the star of Jolly LLB 2, but it is characters of Saurabh Shukla (Justice Sunderlal Tripathi), Sanjay Mishra (Guruji) and Anu Kapoor ( Sachin Kantilal Mathur) who tickle your funny bone. (Read Jolly LLB 2 full movie review)
Closer to the interval Subhash Kapoor gives you enough twists to keep you hooked to watch the second half."
