All our excitement about Junglee is partly because it is directed by Chuck Russell, the man who has given us iconic films like The Mask and The Scorpion King. In this wildlife drama, Raj (Vidyut Jammwal) works as a top vet in Mumbai while his dad runs an elephant sanctuary. The relations between the father-son duo are strained after his mom's death. While he has been away, his beloved sanctuary is under threat from poachers hunting for elephant tusks. What is stunning are the shots of the forests and the beautiful elephants. The makers have captured the beasts in all their glory. Whether it is an early morning shot or one of the twilight, it just looks great. We have not seen any great fight sequences so far so it is a kind of a dampener. Atul Kulkarni looks efficienctly evil as the head poacher. Pooja Sawant is quite good as Shankhu. The film is a bit of a drag but we are now headed for the action.
