Hrithik Roshan is a complete actor. If he is a looker, he is also a great performer. He is perhaps the only actor who doesn't shy away from taking big risks. Someone who became the heartthrob of the nation with his first film decides to go for an offbeat film like Fiza for his second venture. Later he played a terrorist in Mission Kashmir. For a newcomer, they were huge risks but he took them and delivered. In the same way, he played characters with disabilities three times. Hardly has any mainstream hero played such characters let alone thrice. In fact, being a person who had stammering issues as a kid, he understood the condition well. No wonder that he played them with such sensitivity. Here are three roles of Hrithik Roshan that proves he paved the way for a mature display of such characters in films.
Koi...Mil Gaya
Aliens in Hindi films were hardly a theme back then, but Rakesh Roshan took a dare and made Koi...Mil Gaya which introduced us to perhaps the most adorable alien ever Jadoo. However, before Jadoo cures Rohit, he is shown as a grown man with the brain of a child. Hrithik nailed the role! He was friends with kids much younger than him in the film but never did he make it look like a caricature. He is clueless why his mothers tries to shield him from everyone and why the girl he fancies treats him like a kid. Hrithik played various shades of that character with such sensitiveness that it should become the bible for anyone who wants to do a physically challenging roles in films.

Hrithik played a quadriplegic in this film. The main lead of a film playing a man with no mobility, bound to a chair with only his face moving...you will never see another such film in Bollywood ever. That's because our lead actors are expected to fight goons, dance with heroines and save the world at the end. Hrithik dared to be different. It was a risk which he took and did a fab job. He gorged on food because a man bound to a chair for years cannot have six pack abs. He even met quadriplegics to get an idea of how they live and was left enamoured by them. All that translated on screen in Guzaarish.
Kaabil
Hrithik will be seen playing a blind man in the film. A source from the sets had told us that Hrithik never lets his character slip even when he was doing a complicated dance number for the film. That's dedication! He knows the character he plays has limitations and he performed accordingly. From the trailer it was evident that no attempt was made to make him look like a Bollywood hero who can do anything despite not being able to see. He overcomes his challenges to avenge his wife. That's called keeping it real!
We feel it's only Hrithik who can manage to perform such roles with conviction because he is someone who has faced difficulties as a kid. And for that he deserves a huge round of applause.
