Kamal Haasan, Allu Arjun, Jaya Pradha laud Vishwanath Gaaru for his Dadasaheb Phalke Honour

Kasinathuni Viswanath has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Veteran sound designer-turned-director Kasinathuni Viswanath has a huge reason to celebrate as he has been conferred with the honourable Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the highest award in Indian cinema for his commendable contribution to the industry over the years. He is known for his work across multiple industries - Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. His hit Hindi films include - Sanjog, Kaamchor, Eeshwar, Shubh Kaamna, Sangeet, Eeshwar, Jag Utha Insan to name a few. “Of course I'm happy my work has been recognised, it's difficult to express my feeling in words. I will celebrate with my family, friends and my grand children with out making too much noise about it,“ stated the veteran sound designer while speaking with Mumbai Mirror. He has also bagged five National Awards in the past, along with a Padma Shri. When asked by the Tabloid if this honour came too late, he said," “Not at all, government has a lot of responsibilities. Celebs down South are lauding this win. Jaya Pradha was launched by this veetran personality as a deaf and mute girl in her first Hindi film, who expresses herself through her eyes and ghungroos. "Viswanathji has been my guru all my life, he moulded me and was quite a disciplinarian on the sets. He was normally quite composed but if we didn't perform as expected, he'd lose his cool.
