Even after winning the National Award thrice, the actress' stance about popular remains unchanged.
A while ago, the winners of the 63rd National Awards were declared and Kangana Ranaut has been declared as the Best Actress for her performance in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The B-town babe has proved that if you have talent and perseverance to make it big in an industry where you need a Godfather to make it big, you will always get appreciated and get your due. Though the Tanu Weds Manu actress has stayed away from all popular awards, her winning streak continues as she wins the National Award for the third time.
BollywoodLife got in touch with the actress to congratulate her on her win and she sounded ecstatic about it. The actress said, "It is a huge recognition to win the National Award. You get it from the President of India and it is a big moment for me. There no TRPs, there is no façade, there is nothing to gain from anyone, it is just a moment where the person is made to feel deserving. You don't have to dance on stage or please anyone, the award is from the Government of India and there is a lot of respect and prestige attached to it. You can't buy respect, you have to earn it. Unlike other awards where you have to be part of Bollywood royalty, the National Awards are given to anyone who is deserving. It doesn't matter what your last name is or whey are friends with."
Well, we totally agree with you Kangana!
