Rishabh Shetty's "Kantara Chapter 1" continues to break box office records. The film is earning tremendous revenue. The film is inches away from the 400 crore club. It has surpassed films like Saiyaara (329.2 crores), War 2 (236.55 crores), and Coolie (285 crores) at the box office. Now, it's chasing Chhava, which grossed 600 crores at the domestic box office. According to Sacnilk, Kaantara collected ₹37 crore on its second Saturday, i.e., its 10th day. Official figures for the film's second Saturday collection are not out yet. However, if the film collected ₹37 crore on its 10th day, its total collection would reach ₹396.65 crore.

Kantara collected ₹61.85 crore on its first day. On the second day, the film earned ₹45 crore. On the third day, the collections increased, with the film collecting ₹55 crore. On the sixth day, it earned ₹34 crore, on the seventh day, ₹25.25 crore, and on the eighth day, ₹21.15 crore. In its first week, the film collected ₹337.4 crore. Kaantara is directed by Rishabh Shetty, who also stars in the film. The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram. It is a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kaantara. Set in pre-colonial coastal Karnataka, the film explores the ancient roots of the Buta Kola ritual and the lore and history explored in the first film released in 2022. Like its predecessor, the prequel blends regional folklore, spirituality, and action, continuing the saga of man's relationship with nature and the divine.
