The team rubbishes news of Singh being part of the team
Controversies have dodged The Kapil Sharma Show in its short span. The latest one is the arrest of scriptwriter Abhishek Singh that took place on August 5. As per reports, the writer along with his uncle was booked for murder in 2009. He continued to be on the run by adopting fake identities. However, after seven years, the Special Task Force nabbed him.
There were reports suggesting that Abhishek is a writer on The Kapil Sharma Show. However, creative director Preeti Simoes has rubbished it saying, “We have a fixed team of writers and Abhishek isn't part of it. He was just a freelancer like many others who submit their scripts. We have hardly used his work. He isn't associated with the production house.” Controversies are nothing new for Kapil Sharma and his team. But this one is way murkier than the rest. In May, nurses held a demonstration in Amritsar objecting against the overtly sexual projection of Rochelle Maria Rao on the show. She was addressed as darling which infuriated them a lot. The ace comedian said they must have had some misunderstanding and the idea was not to hurt sentiments. Earlier, Kiku Sharda also found himself in a soup when he reportedly ‘mocked’ Baba Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan during a show. The comedian was arrested and let off after the Godman forgave him with a tweet. Kapil Sharma’s show has been making news for reasons, good and bad since its start. We guess the comedian’s name will crop up every time someone remotely associated with the show gets embroiled somewhere.
