The fire at the Amazon Rain forest has become a matter of concern for all of us. Recently, several celebrities such as Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, Esha Gupta, Ishaan Khatter had expressed their concern on the same. Any negligence towards our environment can affect all life forms in ways unimaginable. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently introduced a campaign to ban plastic to further the cause of safeguarding the evironment. On Sunday, PM Modi spoke about the plastic ban campaign in his special radio program Mann Ki Baat.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, PM Modi has called a mass movement against the use of disposable plastic. Bollywood celebrities have often supported the Prime Minister's social causes and this time too they have come forward and extended their support to the initiative. Karan Johar tweeted, "The initiative by our honourable Prime minister @narendramodi to eliminate the usage of “single use plastic “is formidable and as citizens of not just our incredible nation but also of the world we have to support this extremely important cause ....our environment defines us....."

Dia Mirza being the UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador has always written about environmental issues on social media. She has shown her support, while she also asks whether the ban will work.
Saand Ki Aankh actress Bhumi Pednekar also has a message regarding this issue. She has retweeted PM Narendra Modi's tweet and wrote. " What we only use for a while lasts forever! It’s a great initiative started by our PM@narendramodi. We need to stop the use of single-use plastic."
Badhai Ho actor Ayushmann Khurrana has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for starting this initiative. He wrote, "Climate change is real and all of us should ensure we do our bit to protect the environment. Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi ji on urging people to eliminate ‘single-use plastic’."
