Many South Indian actors, directors and producers are stepping up to help the people of Kerala after the floods destructed the state recently. Actors like Mahesh Babu, Vijay, Jr NTR, Vikram, Allu Arjun, Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Deverakonda, among many others, have done their bit. And the latest to get added to the list is popular choreographer-turned-actor Raghava Lawrence. The actor-director-choreographer has announced that he will soon meet the Chief Minister of Kerala and hand over the funds personally to help Kerala stand back on its feet.
Taking to his social media pages, Lawrence made an announcement and wrote, "I have decided to contribute Rs 1 crore to Kerala. I’m feeling very disheartened that it has been destroyed by flood and people suffering a lot they are like our brothers and sisters. While seeing I wanted to do service by directly visiting the place but they informed its hard to get Into all places because it’s raining heavily and told to wait till it reduces.."

This amount of Rs 1 crore will be the highest contribution by a celebrity, from South India. The previous highest being a donation of Rs 70 lakh by Thalapathy Vijay. While actors like Dulquer Salmaan, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Kamal Haasan and Suriya have donated Rs 25 lakh each, Vikram donated Rs 35 lakh, and Akkineni Nagarjuna donated Rs 28 lakh. Many actors from the Malayalam film industry have even joined the volunteers on ground to help the affected people. Actors like Tovino Thomas, Keerthy Suresh and many others travelled to the flood-hit places to help those affected personally.
