R Balki's quirky film, Ki & Ka, is one of the first romcoms of 2016. Featuring an odd pair in Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor and an even odder premise about gender reversal, it is certainly a film to look upto. High Heels Te Nachche
This song is ruling the charts now, so you know how popular it is! A reprise of the Jaz Dhami - Yo Yo Honey Singh's High Heels, the beats and the horn sounds (that reminds you of IPL), make this song an instant winner. Jaz Dhami and Aditi Singh Sharma add enough zing to the song. Your feet won't stop dancing to this one, for sure!
Jee Huzoori
After a party number, things take a sombre turn with Jee Huzoori. If you have seen the video of the song composed by Mithoon (and also sung by him), you know it's about the tiff that has happened between Arjun and Kareena's characters. Mithoon is always a pro at composing such somber songs, and he is good here. Though the song is pleasant while it lasts, it's not one of his best works, though. Yet, the song will keep you enraptured thanks to its catchy hookline!
Most Wanted Munda
A song specifically about Arjun's character, detailing his special 'attributes', that he can chop stuff, does all house work and is homely, and therefore, is the most wanted 'munda'. For the film that preaches gender equality, the songs are definitely giving more importance to Arjun's character being at home, than Kareena's character being the 'one who wears the pants'! Anyways, the song, composed and sung by Meet Bros., is definitely catchy and would work better on the big screen! There is another version called Kabir Most Wanted Munda, which is also equally likable!
Foolishq
Just the first few lines of Foolishq is enough to make sure that this definitely has the potential to stay longer in your playlist. A typical Ilayaraja number that's sensual and so reminiscent of the '90s hits like Bharo Maang Meri Bharo. Shreya Ghoshal, who can never go wrong in any song, and Armaan Mallik amps up the proceedings and turns the song into a very sensuous encounter. Expect Arjun and Kareena to steam it up on screen!
Pump It (The Workout Song)
Another Meet Bros song that suits the dance floor, Pump It is as enjoyable as High Heels and Most Wanted Munda. Though the song may not enjoy the longevity as High Heels, it will definitely look colourful on screen, if choreographed properly.
Our verdict
The soundtrack for Ki and Ka, like the film, is quirky and interesting. While songs like High Heels and Most Wanted Munda would rule the dance floors, Ji Huzoori and Foolishq would definitely charm the romantics!
