Now, this is not a laughing matter. TV actor Kiku Sharda who is loved by the audience as Palak and Laccha in Kapil Sharma's famous show, Comedy Nights with Kapil has found himself on the wrong side of law. The Haryana police have registered a case against him after complaints by followers of Dera Sacha Sauda that the star comedian has hurt their sentiments. The headquarters of the sect is located at Sirsa, Haryana. He has been booked under section 295 A of the Indian Penal Code that charges individuals for hurting outraging religious feelings of any class by insulting it’s religion or religious belief.
Sharda reportedly hurt their feelings by imitating their sect head, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on a special New Year programme on TV. The protestors had created a huge ruckus outside the Fatehabad Police Station and a heavily armed force was sent to that area. They also blocked the main roads leading to traffic congestion and chaos.
Regretting his actions, Kiku took to Twitter and expressed his apologies but the members of the sect are in no mood to listen.
