The self-styled Guru accepted Kiku's apology and tweeted on the same
Kiku Sharda can heave a big sigh of relief. The comedian who was being held under judicial custody at Haryana’s Kaithal police station has been granted bail. He has to provide the court a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. As per reports, self-styled religious guru Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh said that he had no complaints against the star comedian as he had apologized.
The police had arrested Kiku after followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect filed a case against him for insulting their religious sentiments. He had mimicked the Dera Sacha Sauda chief at a special show by dressing up like him. The actor had apologized after hearing the complaints but the followers of the guru were in no mood to relent.
Aditya Insan, defending the decision to file a police complaint the comedian said, “Anyone can commit a crime and then apologise.” Kiku, 40 who was arrested by the Kaithal police stated, “"If I've hurt anyone's sentiments, I fold my hands and apologise to everyone." Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had tweeted that he had accepted Kiku’s apology whole-heartedly.
Dera Sacha Sauda is a social welfare and religious organization that has headquarters in Sirsa, Haryana. It’s most famous representative is Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh who is also called as the Guru of Bling. He has starred in the film, Messenger of God. He has a number of followers, close to 50 million in North India who revere him. They even did a raasta-roko to convey their anger on Kiku’s performance in 2015.
