At last the maverick filmmaker seems to have come up with something praiseworthy
After giving us gems like Satya, Company, Sarkar and many more, going by what the filmmaker has been churning out these days, it would be an understatement to say that Ram Gopal Varma has lost his midas touch.
But all that could change with his upcoming film Killing Veerappan. Directed by RGV, the film stars Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar as the police commander assigned to hunt down the dreaded brigand Veerappan. Based on Asia's biggest manhunt to capture the sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, the film releases on January 1,2016. The film releases in four languages - Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil. With just days ahead of its release, the makers have unveiled the trailer of Killing Veerappan. Here's what I thought about it:
After witnessing the kind of films Ramu has been making lately, I was pleasantly surprised seeing the trailer of Killing Veerappan. Loaded with facts, the trailer captures the essence of Veerappan's manhunt with brutal violence and wonderful camera angles. Although there are no dialogues in the trailer, the promo keeps us engaged thanks to the striking visuals of intense action. The background score aptly summarises the feeling of impending danger. The cinematography by Rammy is applause worthy as he keeps us hooked with nuanced camera angles and engaging aerial shots. Overall, it is one impressive trailer. I hope the film is as good as its trailer.
