Apparently the script writer is furious that the story he had written for the film had been completely tampered by the director
Ram Charan's Dussehra release was one of the most anticipated films of the year.
Other than Ram Charan's starry presence, the film was buzzing big time due to Chiranjeevi's small cameo. While fans thronged in large numbers to catch Sreenu Vaitla's Bruce Lee - The Fighter on big screen, the end effect of the film was not so great as the masala actioner faltered at the box office. Now the film has courted controversy, as rumour has it that script writer Sreenu Vaitla is furious that the story which he had written for Ram Charan - Rakul Preet starrer was completely changed by the director Sreenu Vaitla.
Bruce Lee was co-written by Kona Venkat, Sreenu Vaitla and Gopimohan, but Kona Venkat, who has been credited in the film cries foul play, as he alleges Sreenu Vaitla has tampered with the story without his knowledge. Now, grapevine has it that Mr Venkat is said to be filing Rs 10 crore defamation suit on the director and is planning to upload the original script online for the fans to know the truth.
Meanwhile, reports claim that Bruce Lee is yet to recover its budget of Rs 60 crore and is unlikely to break even. Kona Venkat hasn't opened up about the defamation suit and his tiff with Sreenu Vaitla, but has rubbished the reports of Bruce Lee's poor box office performance by tweeting," Pl don't believe any rumours or gossips regarding our movie "Bruclee".It's still running with good collections..Still getting good response".
