Veeram will be a trilingual film based on the fifth Rasa
Kunal Kapoor has struck the right chord yet again. The actor is going to work in National Award winning director Jayaraj’s next directorial venture called Veeram.
Kunal who is much known for his choice of intense characters will now be seen in a completely new and a different avatar. Veeram will be a trilingual film in Hindi, English and Malyalam that will be based on the fifth Rasa (Veeram). After the much-admired Ottal, Jayaraj’s movie will be an adaption of Shakespeare's Macbeth. The film will have the North Malabar setting and the makers will take inspiration from its Ballads, the Vadakkan Pattukal. Donning the role of Chandu Chekavar, the infamous hero of the stories in Ballads, will be Kunal Kapoor.
The actor has been very dedicated towards this project and is taking utmost interest in detailing and making himself work towards doing justice to his character. Martial expert Shivakumar Gurukkal who is training the actor for the role said, “Kunal has been taking training in Kalaripayattu for the past four months. It is not easy for him, but he has been showing great enthusiasm and putting in a lot of effort. He is picking it up well and his background in theatre is helping him”.
The film has gone on floors and the unit is currently shooting in Cochin after which they will move to Agra for the next schedule.
