The first poster of Laxmmi Bomb featuring Akshay Kumar was unveiled by the makers on Saturday. Little did we know that Raghava Lawrence, who was helming the Hindi remake of Telugu movie Kanchana, was unaware of the poster's release. Yes, it came as a huge shock to us when the filmmaker revealed that he wasn't informed about his own film's first poster nor was he shown the design. Within hours of the poster going online, Raghava dropped the director's hat due to multiple reasons. His decision to quit Laxmmi Bomb became a major roadblock for the producers, who have finally made up their mind to get a new director on board.
According to a source close to Mumbai Mirror, "The second schedule is only in September and things will fall in place by then. Akshay has allotted bulk dates for a 40-day marathon shooting spell in Mumbai. With Raghava, there was a communication gap which was difficult to breach. So we have to take a decision on the new director soon." For the ones who don't know, Raghava was supposed to make his Bollywood directorial debut with Laxmmi Bomb but destiny had different plans for him.
Coming to the open letter that Lawrence shared on Twitter, it read, "In this world, more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person’s character. So I have decided to step out of the project, Laxmmi Bomb, the Hindi remake of Kanchana. I don’t want to mention the reason because there are multiple reasons, but one of them is that the first look poster of the film was released today without my knowledge and even without discussing anything with me."
Although things have not worked out in his favour, the director is ready to hand over his script to Akshay Kumar as he respects him a lot. Talking about Laxmmi Bomb, it revolves around the story of a cowardly man is possessed by the ghost of a transgender woman who takes revenge against the ones who destructed her life. Kiara Advani of Lust Stories has been romantically paired opposite Akki in the film.
Laxmmi Bomb is all set to hit the silver screen on June 5. While there is time for that, we wonder who will step into the shoes of Raghava Lawrence's shoes. To know the same, keep following BollywoodLife!
