Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor's Padmavati is one of the most exciting films of the year. The film, based on the life of the Rani of Mewar - Padmini, is one of the most closely-guarded films ever. From the looks to the story, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made it a point to keep everything under wraps. However, looks like someone just leaked a few details of the movie! Yes, we aren't kidding. Singing sensation, Shreya Ghosal, during an interview with Mid-Day, spilled the beans about the songs she has sung for Padmavati.
Talking about how eagerly she is waiting for the release of Padmavati's soundtrack, Shreya mentioned to the tabloid, "The tracks are rich, intricate and larger than life. Sanjayji has gone one notch higher this time with his music. I am really excited. Besides Padmavati, I have recorded some songs for other films as well, all up for back-to-back release." One of Shreya's song will feature Deepika Padukone dancing on the traditional Rajasthani dance form - ghoomar. For those of you who don't know, Padmavati is based on popular folklore. Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) hears that Rani Padmini (Deepika Padukone) is one of the most beautiful women in the country. The tyrant travels to Mewar to get a glimpse of the lady and while it was not allowed for a married woman to come in front of a stranger, his husband - Raja Raval Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) lets Alauddin see her face through a mirror's reflection. The cruel leader falls for the lady and desperately wants her to be by his side. Alauddin wages a war against the Rajputs to claim her, but they retaliate. However, when everyone realises that they are going to be defeated, the Rani kills herself by committing jauhar (self immolation), just to protect her dignity.
