MS Dhoni- The Untold Story, as the title suggests, will tell the untold story of Indian legend MS Dhoni. I don't really see how the songs will fit in a biographical account of cricketer MS Dhoni's life but one look at the jukebox and the names of Amaal Mallik and Armaan Mallik attached to it, made it interesting for me. The first song of the album sets the mood right of the album and goes well with the theme of the movie. It portrays the struggle of MS Dhoni. The song is sung by Armaan Malik and music is by his elder brother Amaal Mallik. This combo is slowly becoming the guarantee of a melodious and successful song. The lyrics are by Manoj Muntashir, who very skillfully adds lyrics to the song that talks about optimism. Kaun Tujhe

This romantic track is a welcome change from the usual romantic tracks we get to hear usually, as it's from the girl's perspective than that of boy's. The music by Amaal Mallik is very easy on ears and the vocals by Palak Muchhal sets the mood right. The way she enacts the character's emotions just through her voice is commendable. I hope this song gets its due, it deserves.

Jab Tak

Here is another romantic track from the album and it's sung by Armaan Malik. As is the case by other love ballads sung by Armaan Mallik, this song is also on the same lines. But the duration of the song is under three minutes. therefore the song ends before I could get the hang of it. If only the song's duration was longer than it already is...

Phir Kabhi

And Arijit Singh weaves his magic yet again. Another romantic track and this time Arijit Singh is at helms. He is one dependable singer, who always delivers. This song has a catchy hook line and if promoted properly, will find its way into everyone's playlist.

Parwah Nahin

This track sung by Siddharth Basrur is a situational one and may support the movie well but doesn't really stand out on its own. The lyrics are motivating but the music arrangements doesn't work in its favour and reminds me of Jame raho of Taare Zameen Par which was way better.

Jab Tak (Redux)

There is not much difference in the song from the original track apart from the fact that it is has a faster tempo. But again the track doesn't click with me. There is nothing new going on in the track.

Padhoge Likhoge

This song sung by Ananya Nanda & Adithyan A Prithviraj is a situational track and just like Parwah Nahin, may be an important part of the movie but is a non starter as an audio song.

Verdict

The soundtrack of MS Dhoni- The Untold Story is good and has quite a few hummable tunes to it. The song Kaun Tujhe in particular is the best of the lot. The other songs like Parwah Nahin and Padhoge Likhoge may find more relevance once the movie releases.
