This is for the show Naamkarann
After a long hiatus from films, singer Anuradha Paudwal recently recorded a song for the TV show, Naamkarann. The show is produced by Mahesh Bhatt along with Gurudev Bhalla. It is the same time that has made Udaan.
Anuradha Paudwal is one of the top singers of the 90s. She has crooned for top films like Tezaab, Utsav, Hero, Ram Lakhan, Aashiqui and Dil. Some of her most noted films are Dil, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin and Aashiqui. Talking to a lead daily, Paudwal said, "I have sung a song for Maheshji after 15 years. The last I sang for him was for the film Paap. After that I moved to singing devotional songs and have been happy doing that."
She has been avoiding singing Bollywood songs since past few years and says, “It was a personal choice. It's not that I don't like singing Bollywood songs." The lady has been singing devotional songs and performing at concerts across the globe. She also stated that Bollywood songs have no recall value. "There is no sustainability. After one hit song, there is another and so on. Nevertheless, the music and singers are exceptional even now," says Paudwal.
Naamkarann is based on Mahesh Bhatt’s life. He was born to a Hindu father and Muslim mother and had to struggle to get his rights. The story is inspired from his life like his 1998 film Zakham that starred Ajay Devgn in the main role. In the TV series, the makers have roped in Sayantani Ghosh, Viraf Patel and Barkha Bisht. We have seen the promos where the little girl questions her identity. Arsheen Namdaar is playing the role of the girl in the crux of the matter. The filmmaker is confident that she will stun everyone with her fabulous performance on the social drama.
